Can someone please add example or clarification or link?

[edit]

The Braces or curly brackets section mentions triple braces, such as {{{1}}}, but I'm still confused. Why or how is it useful? I tried searching for "{{{1}}}" (which actually only searches for "1"), "triple braces", "parameter", etc, but the most helpful (and almost only) info I can find is Help:Template#Handling_parameters, which was also pretty confusing (for me). If someone could add clarification, or example, or link, to the article or this talk page, I think it would help. Thanks for any advice:) Zeniff (talk) 20:22, 16 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@ZeniffMartineau: I've added a link. Triple braces are never used in articles, so most editors don't need to worry about them. -- John of Reading (talk) 06:07, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much! I was wondering about about templates, but kept thinking it was also possible in articles somehow ever since I stumbled across {{Template:1}} (where I think I mistakenly thought templates were only used in articles).. Much clearer now:) Zeniff (talk) 09:24, 17 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
